Every single one of you deserves a HUGE well done for your fantastic performance last night. It sounded brilliant! Annie, who is helping me complete the Gold Arts Award (setting up LPPO counts towards this) was watching and she was very impressed by the performance. (Annie was also giving out the sweets and The Sage Gateshead information at the prizegiving.)
You've worked really hard and made tons of progress - especially primary school musicians. If you're in year 6, Mrs Holmes can't wait to work with you when you join Longbenton in September. Hopefully the concert also gave you a taste of the other music groups you could be part of - whether it's guitars, rock band, choir or orchestra. Be confident and have a go - you are all great musicians. Longbenton students also deserve a thankyou and well done - generally, you've been great role models for the younger musicians as well as representing your school in a good light.
I'm sad that this is the end of the project - it has been great working with you. If you want more CDs or photos, comment on this post or send me an email - jo.lppo@gmail.com
Parents and musicians: PLEASE COMMENT - would you like LPPO to happen again? why or why not? did you enjoy the performanc? would you like to perform again, possibly next term? what do you think of the CD?
I will also be sending out evaluation forms for musicians and parents to complete - so keep an eye on the post!

Bad news
Unfortunately, our performance at The Sage Gateshead has fallen through. It was just too difficult to find a date which would suit all the schools as well as The Sage Gateshead.
We will still be performing at Longbenton Community College's Summer Concert on Thursday July 3rd - time tbc, keep checking here for more details.
Musicians: don't forget to keep practicing! :)

Last rehearsal
Thankyou for all your hard work today! I am pretty sad that it was our last big rehearsal...sob sob
I was really impressed by how much you have all improved since we first rehearsed. Also, thanks for writing all your comments on the big sheets. If this kind of project happens again, I will know how to improve it!
I will be contacting you with details for our concerts, but keep an eye on the blog for more news. Feel free to comment on this post with feedback and ideas - parents as well as musicians!
Stars went to: Violins & Cellos (13), Flutes, Oboe and Recorders (14), Clarinets and Saxophones (18), Trumpets and Trombones (14) and Percussion (17).
So... FLUTES, OBOE & RECORDERS win Section of the year! Well done!
The star of the session for the Body Percussion in the morning was Reece. UPDATE: I have now managed to find out who the staff picked for star of the session during the rest of the day - see below!
There were 4 stars of the session for the rest of the morning: Rebecca, Leah, Miles and Jade. The afternoon stars were: Thomas, Georgina S, Frances, Erin and Kate. For the rest of the day, all the musicians were stars of the session! And Kirsty won the CD cover competition - I will upload her entry soon so you can all see it.
